In the beginning…

From the beginning on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2: 1 – 4), till now, the Roman Catholic Church has grown, by the power of the Holy Spirit, in its understanding of the faith she teaches.

Jesus Christ established His Church on the foundation of the Faith of the Apostles. He chose the Apostles while on earth, with Peter being the first Pope, and this continued through their successors (Bishops), over time, to continue His ministry. He guaranteed that, “the gates of hell shall not prevail against it (Church) (Matt 16: 16 – 21).

These Leaders have always, over time, guided the Church with sound teaching on matters arising on Faith and Morals. This has been demonstrated through the life, history and traditions of the Church.

These sound teachings on issues of Faith and Morals are recorded in the Catechism of the Catholic Church, giving the opportunity for all to be strengthened in faith.
